Autumn Progress Update
Hello once again!
It's been a long summer since the last progress update. More things have happened, and life has become more difficult, but amidst the bad news, there is some good news as well. Though June and July were mostly somewhat fruitless, since around the beginning of August, even during times of incredibly low energy, I have managed to get my schedule back in order somewhat and found a good flow and I've been having some honestly rather impressive progress, especially in terms of art, with the total number of images in this project now nearly at 200.
My mind lately has also turned to estimates of when part 1 will be complete, which is still something I absolutely cannot say for certain, but I figure I ought to consider, as well as just how much work is left for me to do. Currently, roughly about 7-10 scenes remain in part 1 that are not yet written, and roughly 15 scenes are written but are not yet illustrated. I've also adjusted my workflow and how I keep track of my progress to take into account scenes I get done fully illustrating, which should help me prioritize where I put my effort better.
It's hard to say how long it will take to complete all of this; scenes can vary pretty wildly in how many images, and thus how much work, is required for each scene - some scenes that are mostly character dialogue or the like may only require a couple images, whereas certain important scenes may need a myriad of images and even potentially an animation or a few, and suffice to say scenes closer to the first type can be relatively easy to finish illustrating even multiple of them per week, whereas the second type may take several weeks of work to complete illustration for just one. Assuming I can manage to average about 1 scene per week, which is an incredibly rough estimate, as well as fitting in writing those 7-10 scenes that still need to be written somewhere, I could get part 1 done in around six more months, but this is really only a wild guess. Even still, knowing a bit more about how far I am from this important milestone helps drive me forward to meet it, and given the onset of the colder time of year, which I vastly prefer and could make it much easier for me to work on things, I might be able to expedite my work even more, though I am of course being careful to avoid burnout.
Regardless of how long this takes though, I hope everyone who is following this project is looking forward to part 1, and doing well in all your own lives amidst all that has been happening. Thank you.
